The Good Dog Spot, with locations in both Chicopee, MA and Northampton, MA are supporting a 7-year-old Wisconsin girl’s wish of receiving letters from dogs. Emma Mertens of Milwaukee is fighting a brain tumor and has requested for dog owners around the world to send her loving messages from their pups. The Good Dog Spot is currently collecting letters from clients and staff dogs as well as from anyone in the community that would like to drop them off to one of their two locations. The letters, along with The Good Dog Spot’s yearbooks and paw-print art projects will be packaged together and mailed to Emma on March 16, 2019.

When this message was shared on Good Morning America and by WWLP, Elizabeth Staples, owner of The Good Dog Spot with three young children (and three dogs) of her own, knew she wanted to help bring a smile to this child’s face in a big way.  “Since we’re surrounded by dogs and their people all day every day, collecting letters from clients’ and our staff’s dogs seemed like a simple way to brighten this little girl’s world. Then, we got creative and decided to include our Yearbooks and paw-print art projects and gather from anyone in the community interested in being involved. We feel in this very small way, we can show Emma and her family that people across the country are thinking of them,” said Elizabeth Staples, Owner of The Good Dog Spot.
