Shed Control For Your Pet

If your pet is leaving trails of fur on everything in the house, it’s time for our Shed Control program. While you love your furry friend, it would be nice if they were just a little less hairy, so you can stop vacuuming your couch every day and not have to buy that sticky tape to clean off your pants before work. 

What Is Shed Control?

De-shedding is the process of removing hair from your pet, typically from their undercoat, which is not removed when you are brushing their hair on the top layer of their fur. This treatment gets the hard-to-reach coat on their undercoat, which will lessen the amount of fur you find around your house. 

The Shedding Cycle

All animals with fur go through some type of shedding cycle, and it happens continuously. Even humans have a shedding cycle for our hair, which is not that different from our pets. So here’s how your furry friend’s hair cycle works: 

First, your pet’s hair goes through the growth phase; this is where the hair grows from the hair follicle. 

After this phase, fur will move into the regressing phase. In this phase, your pet’s hair stops growing until it reaches its full length. 

After the regressing phase, your pet’s hair moves into the resting phase, where the hair will be in a state of transition as the hair dies and then moves into the shedding phase. As you can guess, the shedding phase is the part of your pet’s hair cycle where the fur falls out on your couch and everything else. 

The Shed Control Program

Every pet has unique fur, depending on their breed, and requires a unique treatment customized to their coat. We created our Shed Control program to go beyond the typical deshedding treatments and offer a more comprehensive approach to pet hair beyond what is currently offered for shedding. We recommend a consistent schedule, typically between 4 and 6 weeks, for best results.
